Huashan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University

Founded in 1907, Huashan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University, formerly known as the General Hospital of the Red Cross Society of China, which was independently established by Chinese people, is a hospital under the National Health Commission, an affiliated hospital of Fudan University, and a hospital named after the Red Cross Society of China. It is also one of the most renowned and internationally distinctive medical, teaching, and research centers in China.

The hospital boasts the National Medical Center for Neurological Diseases, the National Medical Center for Infectious Diseases, and the National Clinical Medical Research Center for Geriatric Diseases. It is also the National Professional Quality Control Center for Dermatology and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (in preparation). The hospital has 20 national key clinical specialties recognized by the Ministry of Health, including orthopedics, nursing, laboratory medicine, endocrinology, neurosurgery, hand surgery, neurology, traditional Chinese medicine (lung disease), dermatology, urology, nephrology, surgery, gastroenterology, oncology, infectious diseases, rehabilitation medicine, and sports medicine.

As the first hospital in Shanghai to provide international medical services, it has been designated as a medical institution by the consulates of 10 countries, serving more than 600,000 foreign patients from over 100 countries and regions worldwide. The hospital has undertaken medical support tasks at major diplomatic events and international competitions, including the China International Import Expo, World Expo, Olympic Games, APEC meetings, AsiaInfo Summit, Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, and visits of political leaders from various countries to China. It has received high recognition and praise for its contributions.
